Our Sumo Orange Lamp is the warm, sculptural piece that's playful, round, and glowing! Crafted from semi-rigid polyurethane resin with a texture so realistic you'll have to stop yourself from taking a bite. It radiates a warm white light that sets the mood without even asking. Sweet, and juicy just like you!
Design Process:
A silicone mold was created using the actual fruit to capture the most organic shape and texture. We then rotocasted resin into the mold to form the hollow lamp body. A 3D printed base was designed to fit snug into the bottom, with just enough space for the light source. The stem was hand-molded in clay, then resin cast in its own silicone mold. All parts were assembled using a strong binding adhesive, then packaged and heat sealed for freshness.
